Diseases of the Brain?
I think that addictions and personal failings are diseases of the brain. When I hear of a person with an addiction or an alcohol problem; I immediately think that it is their fault. A person chooses to have these addictions and alcohol problems. I know they might say they don't believe that it is their fault that they have a problem but it is. A person chooses to be addicted to something; they control the substance. The substance does not control them and this is why I feel that a person with an alcohol problem or an addiction problem started it themselves. They might think that another person influenced them into doing it but they are the masters of their own journey and of what they put into their mouth and body. A person might not feel like they were doing it by themselves but they are. I feel that rehabilitation centers are an absurd idea; a person does not need another person to try and make them stop taking something bad. It's either a person wants to stop or they don't. There is no in between area and a person can control them self.

Pyschology Career Fair
My first favorite career choice was forensic psychology. I really like the idea of combining science with technology in order to help people. My Second favorite career choice would be the one that I chose. Mine was military psychology and I chose it because I like the idea of helping people who are helping this country. I think that these are the kind of people who not only deserve treatment but have earned it through fighting for our country. The men and women of the military are certainly candidates for post dramatic stress disorder and really deserve the care that they need. My third favorite career choice would be family psychology. I personally really like kids and the idea of having a family so I would want to do anything possible to keep a family together and mentally stable.
In the future, I'm not entirely sure that I will study psychology further. It definitely does interest me a lot but I'm not sure that I will always be this interested. My mom always said that I should find something I love to do and then find a way to get paid for it. I'm not really sure what that is right now but hopefully after taking this course I will be one step closer to finding the job that I have always dreamed of having. Outside of work, I think that psychology is going to be very useful. One of the reasons that I took this class is because I know that there are many people who need help out there and if I ever should run into a situation; I want to have a small background knowledge of their kind of problem.

My Questions on Myself
1.
How does the way you have been rewarded, punished, and disciplined over the course of your life affect who you are today? Over my years I have been affected a lot by how my parents have disciplined me. My mom and dad always rewarded me and my sister equally and fairly for what we did. In this way, we were always rewarded and this pushed us to do better than usual. I know that when my parents rewarded me for something I did, I would always do the best to get that same reward again. It affects me because I always try and perform to my best just because of that reward system.
2.
Explain how the following factors have influenced who you are today: religion, ethnicity, gender, hometown, country... I have always gone to church ever since I was younger and because of that I have a moral obligation to uphold. I could never be a dishonest or disrespectful person because of the way that I was brought up. I appreciate the way that I was brought up because I am an honest and good student because of it. Many other people do not act in this way because I think that they did not go to church as they grew up and their parents didn't lay down rules for them.
3.
To what extent are your own thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions responsible for the person you are today? I feel that the way that I act is a reasonably sensible way to act. I have a positive attitude and I think this influences people around me in a positive way. My perceptions are generally positive and I believe in having a good outlook on my life and other peoples lives. I'm generally the person in my group of friends who never shuts up and always tries to make everyone laugh a lot. I just like to be that person because it makes other people feel good about themselves.
